Welcome to Help the Blind Foundation.

Our mission is to provide access to university education thereby enabling visually-impaired students in India to get jobs in today’s modern economy. Towards this mission, we also provide skills training through our EMET program, coaching for examinations and personal development initiatives.

Given poor educational and health facilities, it is the poorest of the visually impaired who suffer the greatest through lack of support for higher education. Our efforts are focused in reaching this socio-economic group, many of whom migrate to cities, where colleges provide better facilities for the visually impaired.

Help The Blind Foundation in India is ably supported in our activities by HTBF (Hong Kong) and HTBF-America who raise funds through their extended network and promotional activities in their respective geographies.

We are managed in India by 8 trustees drawn from different professional backgrounds, who have a wealth of experience in managing large matrixed organizations, and an extensive network of contacts. Volunteering is the backbone of our organization. Over 55 volunteers lead our efforts in identifying beneficiaries, contacting their colleges, and authenticating the most deserving visually-impaired candidates for our sponsorship programs and other initiatives.

Do get in touch to volunteer, donate and support us. Let us engage in the process of integrating our visually-impaired brethren into the mainstream.

Be part of a noble cause

As Helen Keller said,”Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light.”
